Shucks. I realised that if I enter by nagoya, have to give up Nagano, unless I wanna buy the 7 day JR pass. Can't mirror your itin.

Alpine-Takayama-Matsumoto Area most suitable but doesn't go to Nagano, kanazawa.

Unless u depart from HND/NRT then do reverse route..

Nagoya to Kanazawa using Shirasagi and continue to Toyama > alpine route to nagano..

Nagano can go Matsumoto..On the way to Tokyo can drop by Karuizawa

Doing the sums now. Seems like will be 43k yen for the various legs, if starting from nagoya but roughly going on to the same destinations as yours.

Another idea is Nagoya to Nagano buy as single ticket 9k+. Then get the hokuriku arch pass still for 30k.

The air tix if entering hnd is over 1k for 20ish Oct. Haha I want to depart kix cos feel like revisiting kansai area again and upcoming mar/apr trip entering/departing tokyo ard.

My next trip also dunno when liao now that kiddo is in pri sch, cannot suka suka go holiday...Probably store some miles for next redemption..But confirm not going to Osaka, probably land and run from Tokyo..

since my kid in primary, i only do autumn / early winter trip... (we don't like summer lol)

last year autumn arrive later, so get to enjoy bit of everything … momiji, snow cap fuji & illuminations.

Heng i went Hokuriku..The maplest leaves + winter was tateyama alpine route... and also kamikochi
