In my opinion, simon had done wrong (now not sure if he had repent and changed), and his ex wife (megan mum) also in the wrong. Even if simon had introduced her to drugs, its also herself to blame for continuing and not quiting. Her violences to her own daughter is her own actions and not simon's (but we also not sure if simon cared for Megan or not, to have want to be responsible to get her back to care for her or only simon family did want to).

Both simon n megan mum are wrong. And the hubby and their friend who went to their house all had not empathy for the child. Actually simetimes i feel the child might be better off as a orphan in an orphanage than to have bad parents like them.
