GPRS Charges in Philippines

My maid is using an IPhone 5S and she went to Philippines for a break. Now on one specific date she got a high bill due to GPRS stated on the bill. Her IPhone Roaming is Off during the whole time she is in Phillipines. Now can anyone help me how could this possible and what's behind the GPRS. Thanks.

your maid on postpaid plan?

She or someone enabled the data/gprs settings.
Or she moved the SG simcard to another phone with data enabled.

But she confirms that the IPhone Roaming Tab Function is OFF or she didn't moved the simcard to another phone..

data roaming rate can be $20 per 5MB if not on any data roaming plan.

a 30 seconds youtube can use 100-200MB on good data connection.

I would only guess that she enabled the data for short period.

Also, asked her what she disabled?

"Data Roaming" switch
or this switch
"2G , 3G, 4G"

she might have selected 2G (is also called GPRS), then kept data roaming switch enabled.

better call telco to get discount and request for permanent disabled of data roaming

it depends on iOS version, but it should be in SETTINGS / CELLULAR.

then showing of 2G,3G,4G switch is not same for telco and iOS version. go and check the actual 5S

also, from iOS 8. there is a Cellular Usage Roaming counter. if not zero. then you know the answer .
