Hi,

My computer recently seems to be having trouble with the GPU. Random screen freeze and/or Bootup with a beep into Windows but no video output. Windows 7 reported a problem with the device driver on restart but I'm not trusting it fully. Even if its not a graphic card, I can at least use it in my new rig since its an old computer (4-5 years) that still uses the DDR2 RAM...

Another sign could be that playing Guild Wars 2 with lowest setting lags despite a QuadCore processor with 4 GB Ram while playing the highest setting on my MSI laptop does not.

Thinking of getting a Nvidia card as I don't really like ATI's driver support (my 4870 is not supported for Windows 8 so I'm not sure if the next card I buy from them is supported for future Windows).

I'm looking at the GTX760 and was surprised to find Leadtec selling for $320 only compared to other brands. Anyone has any experience with this card?

Budget is definitely an issue so I'm not looking to spend above $400. But if spending some extra $$ will give a better support or life span, I'm more than willing to fork out that $$.

Will be using it to play games like Crysis, Skyrim, Guild Wars, Diablo 3 etc.. But won't be playing games in dual monitor though so 2GB VRAM should be enough I guess.

Thanks in advance for any advice :)

Wow,

Thanks for the quick response :)

But as far as cooling is concerned, I could only find people recommending the MSI or Gigabyte or Asus version of the card which all cost above $400 :(

The next closest in price would be the Palit which cost $349 (or $379 with Jetstream). I think you are referring to the $379 one, right? To be honest, I like the LEDs and for sure wouldn't mind the extra $70 for a more quiet and better fan but anyone with any experience with using the card?

im an so call ex owner of the palit gtx760 jetstream. It has been passed down to my gf.

Well it is a good card. Good cooler also. Just that the card is 2.5slots taken up.

That card has white led for their fan. But once the card mount to the mobo you probably cant see it unless you mobo is in a table flat horizontal position.

Thanks :) Looks like that's the card I'm buying then :D

Once again, thank you for the information. Didn't know that Tradepac was selling at $345 with the "OFFER" covering their price in the pricelist :)

Should be heading there soon then :)

Well,

TradePac really quoted me a very good price that I can't refused. Unfortunately, that was before they realize they had ran out of stock :(

But based on how good their price was, I'm thinking it may even be possible for me to get the MSI version of the same card for lower than $400 :)
