GPU advice

I am a casual gamer. Edit photos some times but I believe RAM is more important for this?

1. I find spending 200 on GPU expensive since my rig is only around 800.
2. I can still play my mobas with the integrated graphics on intel CPU i3-8100
3. I thinking of buying GPU because I cannot play Witcher 3. Halfway my 650ti died.

4. Should I consider buying second hand GPU? Hear GPU life span short. Maybe not worth
5. I see people say 1650 is best value budget card? Or should I consider the 1650super or 1660 or 1050ti?
6. I do have the money for a bit more expensive card but don’t feel like I need to just to play Steam games like Witcher.

Every new game has higher and higher requirements. Getting a 1660 or a 2060 is a better gaming "investment" if you are ok with low to medium settings.

Depend on your budget, how you upgrade is not according to how much
your rig is.
My recommendation:

- Upgrade to a Intel i5 8400 (Second hand)
- Upgrade to a Geforce 1050 ti (First hand around $200, second hand
is under $150.)

Second hand GPU have pros and cons:
- Second hand GPU have been used.
Fans will have dust as well as on heatsink.
Opt to clean first before using.
- No warranty so if any issue means have to buy a new one.

Try not to get a GPU that needs more power, not sure what
type of PSU you are using.
Geforce 650 Ti is really old and due to it's lifespan of more than 8 yrs
the card will stop working eventually.

if ur 650ti was serving u well, then u could probably look for some 750tis, those go for about $60-$70 for a reasonable uplift in performance. if looking for bigger upgrade, the 1050tis are pretty good too at about $100-$130. for used gpus just make sure it wasnt used for mining for extended periods of time, should last pretty long.

1650 is not great value. the 1650 super is, offering way more performance for not much more in money. its is also a pretty good 1080p60 card, matching the 1060 6gb and rx580 (both of which go for about $150-$200 nowadays). however, both the 1650 and 1650 super cost above $200, so up to u whether the warranty is worth the budget overrun. and judging from u running witcher 3 with 650ti, u probably wont use the extra gpu power anyway.

if u are building for gaming, a balanced build has the gpu costing ~40% of the build.

if u going 2nd hand. gtx 1070 is like ~200 on carouhell last time i checked.
oh i think the 30xx series OOS pushed the 2nd hand market up again.

Thank you everyone for the replies. Looks like most suggest either 1050ti or 1650 super. A bit wary of 2nd hand card. Probably will get new one. Looks like 1050ti is 200 bucks and 1650 super is 240

Yes 2nd card got pros and cons, you never know how long
it has been used.
You can look around in SLS for 1050/1050 ti.

eh dont get the 1050ti for 200$. thats like the brand new price 4 years ago.
at least the 1650 is a newer faster card.
2nd hand wise, super cheap is rx 470/480/570/580. recommended is gtx 1070.

Go for 1650super, dun go for 2nd hand cards. you shd be able to play witcher 3 on mid settings.
