Before we start will have to warn you all the following is at your own risk.

However it is extremely safe provided you follow the instructions step by step carefully.

Would recommend this only for comfortable / experienced users looking for more performance beyond their normal GPU limits

So why do we need to flash our GPU bios?

1. Every GPU model has varying Power (TDP) Limits as well as voltage limits imposed via software control. Many brands talk about their vrms and power phases but all those are pretty much moot unless you overvolt.

2. It is only when you flash a custom bios on your GPU that you can unlock these limits (depends on card to card) and you can realise the true potential of your GPU.

What kind of numbers are we looking at?

1. Take for example a normal GTX 780, on stock bios and voltage you can expect to get 1100 mhz core or less depending on model for 90% of cards. In a custom bios where we disable boost (so your card will operate at max frequency all the time no throttling when pushed) at 1.212v you can probably achieve close to 1200 mhz 24/7 stable.

2. On the rare cards that are voltage unlocked eg. MSI Lightning or EVGA Classified, you are able with special tools to obtain voltages up to 1.5v on a GTX 780 or 1.6v on a GTX 780 Ti and on EVGA models you can get 1400-1500mhz core

This is my card @ 1425 mhz core on Unigine Valley

Basically, a highly binned GTX 780 Classified at >1400mhz rapes even a GTX 690 and all overclocked 780 Tis (especially Asus Matrix) and Titan Blacks (excluding overvolted 780 Tis like Classifieds and Kingpins)

So how you do it?

For Nvidia cards, you have to download this programme called NVFLASH.

https://mega.co.nz/#!CMlU2LLZ!Uvirhpn7nTFCdLLwOJ6SilncfCw3FegiCjud62gDq48

1. Extract into a new folder.

2. Download GPU-Z and save your stock existing bios (in case you need to revert in future) somewhere secure

3. Download a custom bios

for GTX 780 owners available here

[Official] NVIDIA GTX 780 Owner's Club

4. Rename the .rom bios file into x.rom and place it in the folder with NVFLASH

5. Run Ezflash.bat in the folder and press 1,2,3,4 to run each of the processes pressing y during step 3 and 4

6. Restart your computer

7. Enjoy your newly flashed GPU and use MSI Afterburner to increase the power limit + voltage (Pull all the way to max dont worry it's still very safe)

Happy flashing and run Extreme HD Unigine Valley and post in my thread to share your results!

YMMV for different models but ive heard 680s are excellent overclockers oddly

so far GK110s are solid OCers as demonstrated below in screenshots
