GPU Black Screen

Hi all ,
got some qns regarding the gpu . My fren tried using his new gpu r9 290 and got black screen when starting up. i tried my r9 280x also get black screen while both cards work on my pc. his cpu psu is cm g750m , shld be more den enough to power it . at first i tot the motherboard gpu slot got problem , however it could power up a gt 430 when i pair with it . any advices ?

uninstall the nvidia graphic card drivers first....

did you plug in their respective 6/8pin power connectors or not?

i am quite sure with the 6/8 pin power connectors , however for the graphics card driver i aint sure about it

shld i install the gpu amd driver after that ? or install the gpu first


1. plug in the gt 430
2a. download the uninstaller, extract to somewhere like your desktop
2b. download the latest amd driver, but don't install yet
3. run safe mode
4. start the uninstaller, select the driver you wish to remove, then choose last option
5. once done and shutdown, remove gt430 and replace with new graphic card
6. turn on pc, install amd driver

what output you using to connect to your monitor?

hdmi , i tried using dvi port also same result . it works for my pc. For the 6 / 8 pin power supply , on my pc there's pci e and sli , 8 pin for pcie n 6 pin for sli . however for the g750m i can only find pcie pin . is it the same ?

bios>settings>advanced>integrated graphics config > initiate graphics adapter. select peg, save and exit. can try that. what mb is he using exactly?

it's already peg by default :s22:
if really cant solve the problem might need to go find nigel liao
