So my GPU fan doesn't spin. That causes overheating of GPU and hangs my computer.

After I took it out from the slot and gave the fan a few taps, I put it back in the slot.

Now I turn on the computer and voila the fan spins again, everything is alright.

But the next time I turn on the computer, it doesn't spin again!

I repeat the steps and it all works again.

So any expert here know what the issue is? GPU fan kaput? GPU connector kaput? Or motherboard kaput?

Buy new GPU to replace ok mah?

No warranty le, is an old rig, my backup computer.

Fan oil run out can I just remove the sticker covering the fan and add oil?

Alternatively I can buy a cheapo graphics card to replace it...the current one is cheapo anyway.

So I oiled the fan....
Same problem still occurs!

Don't think it's the fan itself, it spins pretty well.

My worry is that the problem is the motherboard or connectors and not the GPU. LAter I buy new one still got problem.

GPU fan is connected to GPU fan pin on pcb, not motherboard.
