You are right on the PSU, mine is FSP too.
Thankfully the GPU hasnt surfaced any problem which you mentioned.
I hope that the GPU has not been damaged yet though.

Had the same issue with my FSP PSU in the past.
Intensive GPU game would cause auto reboot.. turned out the PSU was faulty. Replacing it solved the problem
Be careful with further testing, coz the lack of sufficient power to the GFX can damage it as well. Abt 1 month after replacing the PSU, the GFX started to lose video output to the monitor when in intensive GPU games.
PS: the reason why ur PC could continue playing the game well when lowering the gfx setting is because lower setting requires less load from the GFX card, in turn using less power from the PSU
