GPU PSU help! (noob)

Hi i need help and advice for upgrading my 4 year old Asus gtx 560ti. Am considering the Sapphire R9 280. I currently have a Cooler Master Silent Pro M 500w.
Is it enough for this card? If not would you guys recommend a better psu? I'm very broke can barely afford the gpu but if really no choice then i will consider a new psu :(

Your PSU is able to handle the new GPU. btw you can sell the Asus GTX 560Ti for about $80, which can go towards the budget for a new GPU.

Edit: AMD is going to refresh its GPU line-up so you might want to wait for a couple of days before deciding on which GPU to buy.
