Hello,

My HIS 4870 GPU uplorry after 4 years of reliable service..

Given my current set-up of 4 years...
- GA-EP45-ud3p socket775
- INTEL c2quad e8400 3ghz

what is a suitable replacement card? Guess i don't need too high-end a card as my MB and CPU will cause bottleneck anyway...?

Bought it for gaming then.. then along the way my children came along so no time for gaming anymore. Mostly just use it for surfing/downloads/movies nowadays.

Still serves my needs so dont think i want to change the whole system... so any replacement recommendation?

Hmmm this kind of situation best is to work out a budget you will to spend then head down to the marketplace look for something cheap. Can save money and get a good enough gpu to watch movies psps can't search for you now cause using mobile hard to navigate

Marketplace ah.. i will prefer something first hand if possible though... just buy, fix and use.. dont need to worry about second hand product reliability. i work near SLS anyway so can go buy anytime.

Get 750ti, don't even need 6 pin power. Cool and quiet.

Problem is price and performance is abit too high for his usuage ma. But again is up to ts maybe ts dont mind pumping more to get the 750tI incase he wants to have some light gaming.
