guys, how come my gpu tem starts at 45 degrees at boot which is about 10 degrees higher than my ambient temp??the card im using is Asus r9 290 direct cuii oc and i know the card is hot but it gets way too hot at 90+ degrees during gaming sometimes even with 80-90% fan speed...any ideas what might be causing this and any solutions for this as even when im typing this the gpu tem is fluctuating around 50-54 degrees...

thanks in advance.

Normal bah... Mine also hovers around 40-50 degC on idle, 45-55 when surfing net or so (basic stuff), and around 90+ when gaming (be it high or low end games.)

It is designed to work till 95 degC de.

Thats nvidia la... max set temp b4 throttling is 85 degC. Amd de is 95 degC. You need a good cooler( lightning, giga, powercolour) or go WC to cool it.

It will cost around $1.2k onwards. Do u want to go for it?

nope that's a ridiculous amount of $$ for cooling measures , btw so what you guys are saying is that it's okay for it to be at that temperature? And i wanna know if it would helped much if i add 1 or 2 fans to help out with the ventilation??
