A bit of a backside itchy question. Current card, Gigabyte 980Ti Waterforce still works fine, no issues with any games etc. However, already 2 generations behind the 2xxx series and value continue to drop.

Worth upgrading card or just use another 1-3 years then upgrade? If upgrade, what's a good card now, and how much can I get for my current card now? Thanks

Any GPU you buy now will depreciate.

980Ti is around $300 to $350. The lower end GTX 1070s are around $350 so you won't get more than that for the GTX 980Ti.

Anyway, itchy just go for it. :) The RTX 2080 should be a nice upgrade.

considering that now there are no software that supports ray tracing, there is no need to upgrade 980ti until much later. I am coming from a rtx2080 user and if you insist to upgrade, the rtx2080ti is much better :)

Haha, okay will hold the upgrade and continue using my 980Ti. A bit heart pain to sell at $350 when I bought it for 1.2k in 2016. :s13:

no one will buy your 980ti if they can get a 1070 at a similar price...
just gotta look at how much the 1070 are selling it and price your 980ti lower

Yup, I will just keep and use la. Anyway, none of the games I play now get bottlenecked by my 980Ti.. so really is backside itchy :s13:
