GPU upgrade?

PSU FSP Aurum 500w
Case Coolmaster elite 430
GPU AMD Sapphire 6870

Recently my friend wanted to buy my PC but we decided not to trade as we need the money for traveling together.
So I gave up on buying the DIY PC that I thought of, instead I just want to change my GPU. Currently looking at GTX 970 was wondering if it's worth it?
Also I saw some dude brought his GTX 970 on lazada sales for 370~ so I was wondering when was the sales and will there be any sales for GPU soon?
