Just wondering if any of you has tried out the 290/290x/780ti.

I've used the 780ti and yeah it's the fastest but found the price shockingly bad for the performance. It was so good and so bad at the same time that I sold it.

My 290 when oc reaches 780ti stock at nearly $400 cheaper . The acoustics is bad but I find the temp overrated as you don't feel the heat at all unless u keep eyeing the monitoring tool .

I guess every gpu has it's targeted audience but personally I find that the gpu market really is bad as a consumer.

Do not fall into the marketing hype of "needing" to have the fastest and best. You don't need to game at the highest settings. Just pay for what you feel is comfortable. There are those "price/performance" charts, they will tell you what you have to know.

Remember, consumer is king in a free market. You only relinquish your power once you feel compelled to overspend - which is caused by good manipulative marketing.

Haha that is true. I thought 1k was a good price for full unlocked Kepler even after reading reviews n benchmarks. However the actual truth was so different.

work around your budget, initially i wanted a 290 but instead i grabbed the convergent 7870 at 199 which imo has an unbeatable price/performance ratio

if u dun mind gaming on lower resolutions and lower settings...there no need to buy top of the line cards at sky high prices...sometimes you dun realise the difference also...2 X AA and 16 X AA... you gotta peel ur eyes..then can see the difference.if you need to spend so effort to scrutinize for details then no point also. just enjoy with your budget. sometimes ppl jus want to have the best thinking it is the best when even mid range cards are offering good performance at reasonable prices.

At 1920 x 1080 i dont find a need for AA.
