Grab is illegal in Thailand?

Is Grab illegal in Thailand?
Heard that some are pulled over by the police and the driver fined 2000 baht.
Anyone of you kena before?

Also heard that the police will ask you if you were using Grab.

Never kenna before but was told by one of the Grab driver last week when I was there. One of the driver ever drive pass me due to police was nearby.

Able to book doesn't mean is legal. Airbnb is also so call illegal but still many people using it.

For now, yes Grab is illegal, that's why sometimes your driver might ask you to sit infront instead.
They are in talks to get it legalized in early 2020, basically it's just about paying the right amount of $$.

Funny thing is they also set up names of Grab pick up points to key inside your Grab app

Interesting.. have used grab for all my trips in bkk no meet any problem
