Think limit can be set by merchants or banks.

Usually with Samsung Pay, it is possible to even bypass the limit for requiring signature. However, I have encountered rejection for transction above $100 using paywave Samsung Pay before. The cashier warned that the system can't paywave for amount above $100 but still offer to let me try. True enough, the payment cannot go through without using the physical card's chip.

Samsung Pay already saved your signature. It is not required to sign again in some cases.

Gave up waiting for my physical card. Anyway TBH seriously doubt i’d have much use for it. Besides there is always the virtual card.

I didn't save my signature for any of my cards. I believe the unlocking of Samsung Pay through pin or fingerprint is considered a layer of authentication. Most, if not all, charge slips will usually show signature not required but the cashier may still just request for signature.

Grabpay mastercard - SimplyGo

Hi all, i am using my Grabpay mastercard for public transportation - Simplygo.

I notice there are a couple of $0.10 deduction.

My questions are:
  1. Is this legitimate transaction?
  2. What should i do? Ask for refund?
  3. If (2) is yes - refund, how do i do it?

Thanks all.

Answer to your question (1) is yes. So questions (2) and (3) are moot.

hi saintgtril

yes, it is legitimate. apparently the $0.10 is earmarked to see if u have sufficient balance, and this $0.10 will be amalgamated together with your total fare. Its in the grabpay faq.

but the thing is they keep deducting $0.10 every 3-4 days, much faster than they post my final fare debited. there must had been 3x $0.10s extra so i stopped using it for a month.. but after 1 month still no refund, so i also curious to know how to claim...

sian 1/2... i prefer using visa - 1 day fare amalgamated easier to track and manage.

I received a refund for an extra charge, booked around 19 Dec, only 2 days ago. So you will get it back.

1.5%

10 char

GPMC incur 2% fee for foreign spend, but get grabpoints. Grab points earn rate dropping starting in march though. Mastercard conversion should be slightly better than money changer. Nett nett it will be comparable to using cash. But you will not have issue of leftover cash.
