I think many people misunderstood the points "devaluation". The earn rate has been reduced, but I believe the rewards redemption pts required will stick. It just doesn't make sense for Grab to devalue earn rate + increase redemption pts required at the same time.

Perhaps due to some articles out there that tried to add mathematics to calculate everything, including earn rate vs redemption rate, made everyone think that the redemption pts is also going to increase.

I will keep my points and wait for flash deals to come along since it doesn't expire. There's really no rush to finish up all your points eh. :s22:

Rewards points needed for redemption also cut.

I redeemed Grab Food voucher. Valid till June.
Now $10 vr need 5000 points. I changed ytd for 3600. $5 vr need 2500 points. I changed ytd 1900 points.

stated very clearly on grab's website that points needed to redeem rewards will increase to $1 for 500 points.

So what they did was cut points per dollar spent and increase points needed to redeem rewards.

Double kill :s13:

4 points per dollar now means that we need to spend $1125 to retain platinum :s12:

Their floor redemption rate has been like this since Nov/Dec 2019. $1 voucher for 500pts. $5 for 2500pts. Don't think this will changed as of March 2020.

50% flash deals will come and go, just gotta wait. If everyone FOMO, then i think someone did a good job at getting the masses to burn all their pts at non-promo rates. :s13:

The floor remains the same. But the "discount" given to Platinum members for their vouchers has been removed. For eg. the floor for $10 voucher is 5000 points. Platinum members used to get it for 3600 points (and gold/silver members get a discount too, but at a tiered rate)

Now everyone gets it at the same rate. 5000 points for all. What I did was redeem some vouchers I know I will use but keep some points for flash deals. Not that I would be able to catch them always seeing as how they will surely be snapped up in no time.

Anyway, no motivation to retain Platinium anymore.

And you have to wait for the next day 24hrs for a new top ups
