Unable to use GPMC overseas

Anyone having problem using GPMC overseas to pay merchants?

Meaning in Malaysia, scan QR code. Can't pay as the amount in SGD. Now I don't see overseas currency too.

GrabPay wallet is local-only

GrabPay MasterCard can pay internationally.

You need to choose Malaysia wallet to top up. It's a separate wallet.

According to the link, there's no top-up limit but the following limits applies for Basic/Premium Wallets:

Max Balance at any time: $5,000/$5,000
Single transaction limit: $3,000/$5,000
Monthly transaction limit: $10,000 (for GrabPay Mastercard only)
Annual transaction limit (calendar year): $5,000/$30,000

I'm having some issues topping up with UOB Amex, like can top up >$2k at one instance, then fail at $50 the next (nothing to do with limit, since I can do 3x $20 top ups).

same here, called both amex and grab they can’t help.. so just gotta keep trial and error with diff denominations and thereafter key in card details manually..

If the issue is in place, I usually find that $20 and enter card manually works. But bank will usually detect this as highly fraudulent activity and card will get block the card. Need to call bank to unblock.

Sometimes intermittent, in one day, $2k one shot can, next moment $50 also cannot.

Grab help mentioned this to me.

"In regards to your inquiry, please be informed, you unable to see the local currency because your GrabPay Mastercard is activate.

When you activated your GrabPay Mastercard, you unable to use other GrabPay wallet other than SGD.

Thus, to perform any MYR or THB transaction, you need to use the GrabPay Card which would be pre-loaded with the SGD balance in your SG wallet. There will be some currency conversion (Foreign Exchange) charges applied on the transaction when the rides taken in other country.

When we travel overseas, will we still be able to access the GPMC interface (e.g. to see card details, top up SG wallet / GPMC)? Or we should top up the SG wallet first before leaving SG?

I was able to access when i was in Europe 2 months ago. Still able to get card details, top up etc. But i have heard some people were not able to do so. Not sure why, so to be safe, just top up before leaving.

Some features might not be available while overseas, the app will take your GPS location to determine that. I had to spoof my GPS back to sg to get it to work (ie top up etc).
