I'm not sure how they determine what's f&b. I tried both grab qr and GrabPay Mastercard. Seems like hit & miss for popular chains like sukiya or other restaurants.

grab qr only have lucky box. Grabpay mastercard have 0.3% only for f&b (should use other cards for better rewards)

Payment will fail. I will receive SMS from Grab that insufficient funds.

can use credit card to earn better rebate/points

Only Grab transport rides paid through Pay Later or Grab Wallet credits earn points. Agree with Trazora, use a higher earning credit card instead, e.g. that rewards Transport or Online.

Use GPMC only where no other card works.
