The MasterCard deducts from your grabpay credit so no it does not preclude the cumbersome process of topping up your credits. The main objective as I see it is for overseas spending where you could possible save on conversion fees

Hmmm. Through what type of usage is the value of Grab points maximized?

Also, am I right in understanding that this card precludes the need for Grab Credits? I find the whole business of 'topping up' Grab credits highly cumbersome. So if at the end of the day the only way to pay off the bill for this Grab Mastercard is through Grab credits (like it is for the Pay Later line of credit), then it is not for me.

And finally, is the system set up such that any place that accepts Grab Pay also accepts this Grab card?

the mastercard still deducts from your grab wallet, so you need to top up. the thing is that you can buy anything online and get the points as you have a credit card number, so you are not limited to only merchants that accept grabpay.

EDIT: Just found out... AXS app cannot use GrabPay directly... can only add Mastercard... so meaning if we are not selected as trial user for this card, we can't use Grab Wallet for AXS bill payments.

Not true... I don't care about credit card payment as I'm not trying to get an interest free "loan" like this.. The fact that u can use Grabpay to pay all the other type of bills is already damn useful especially u can earn credit card rebates like this.

If certain spending falls under excluded transactions, it is better that you use this to spend from your Grab wallet which you can then top up (qualified transaction) with cards that give you better benefits (eg. UOB ONE gives you 5% cash back).
