1900pts is already a $5 grab ride.
TBH, grab rewards won’t get any better, it’ll only be less attractive given GPMC is now opened up to the mass and points are easily accumulated. Purely my personal opinion
The redeemed Grab vouchers are valid for how long?

Think this will be useful if one is very worried about online transactions & credit card data possibly being stolen.

Say if u are buying a software costing US$50, just transfer S$100 to your grabpay account then use grabpay card to buy the software online. Suay suay if card data gets compromised, there is just S$30+ left in your grabpay account.

Minimal loss and since it functions like a debit card, the hacker can’t get any more funds out of it besides this $30. Then cancel card & request for new number.

This was possible in the past but troublesome cos most banks have minimum deposit of $500 & some have monthly fees for debit card. NTUC OCBC starter account no minimum deposit or monthly fee but there is yearly NTUC membership fee.

I think most Grabpay Card user here worried more about lost opportunity than lost money. :)

I just saw 2900 grab points can change for 500 linkpoints. But basically 500 grab points can direct offset $1 from any grabpay purchase. 2900 points can offset close to $6. 500 linkpoints only worth about (150p = $1) $3.30?

Hope grab can issue better rewards

Thanks for calculating for me.
I was wondering the same thing.

you read the membership rewards it says plat is 2x rewards.

mailer says promo now for using gpmc is 10x
10 reward points different from 10x reward points.
2x means compared to "member" status. It was there from the start.

Either way, I don’t think 2xreward points would make the GrabCard worth using compared to other credit cards. If Grab decides to reduce the rewards, people would then just use their service less, and things will work themselves out.

As it is, I don’t think the card can be added to Apple Pay, so that’s an extra layer of inconvenience, and its rewards will have to be good for me to take out the card as opposed to just paying directly from my phone or watch.

Heard the Apple Card lets you regenerate new credit card numbers as and when you wish on the fly. Wish it would come to Singapore, but a flat 2% cash back doesn’t seem like a good deal compared to other cards.
2% not bad what. Not the highest but at least no minimum spend & unlike UOB One, dont have tiers & must ensure for every quarter u meet the minimum.
