I got once had a $300 refund.
Almost one month the merchant then refund.
Or according to gpmc ‘team’.
Oh well. Just wait at least a month.
If dont have then escalate.
agree that it's likely the slowness on GPMC side that slows the refund. normally merchant side alr initiated the refund/chargeback but it's the issuing card (GPMC in this instance) that processes and confirms the refund, b4 it gets officially refunded. banks normally process refund faster either cos of automation or there's dedicated manpower (e.g. UOB) that processes it. i worked twice with UOB on my customer's refund/chargeback b4 so i know someone needs to manually process it.
suspecting that bcos their "GPMC" division is still in beta infant stage, refunds are not automated (or not coded in their systems) and am not surprised if its all manually done. so their lean team will take time to process the refunds 1 after another hence the backlog. hopefully it becomes quicker as their focus on payments expands...
