I have been Plat user for long but because I did not take part in the closed BETA phase, I have not gotten my physical card while my friend, who took part since BETA already got his physical card last week...

Anyone knows if Citibank miles still can be earned if I used it to topup grabpay card? Read somewhere that the MCC has changed but Citibank hasn't mentioned anything about it

Citibank no need to mention anything ah. Anyway only mcc for topup using mastercard and amex cobrand changed.

I am new member, opened in Sept, Topup once $10 in Oct, spend the $10 in Nov, in Dec got my virtual card, clicked the wrong button for physical card, then received my physical card invite email, clicked now waiting :13:

Edit: every now and then between Sept to Oct before I topup $10, they will email/msg me, why are u not using Grab. Before I topup $10, I decided to reply to them, I am waiting for the virtual card

I do encounter paywave machine down at some restaurant once in a blue moon. So it's handy to have a card on hand to swipe

Please understand that Samsung pay can "swipe" also, called Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST). If you using Grab card, no difference between paywave and swiping. Only difference comes on UOB PPV or VS, where only paywave transaction gets 4mpd, while MST do not.

As mentioned in the last few pages before, this is doesn't work for IOS. Reported works for Android users.

I remember seeing someone mention about borrowing an android phone to do it. It's the only way to move forward if one couldn't wait out until a further solution is provided.

In fact, count yourself lucky to receive that in mail message as there's a way out by borrowing an android phone to activate. I have a friend who started late. Totally no such message though she's using an android. So I don't think there's anyway for her to even get the card until Grab mass again next time

So every physical location where the Grab Pay physical card can be used should be able to use Samsung Pay?

it is the MST function wch allows it to mimic a swipe function of the terminal. it is a hit or miss, hit rate of 70-80% in my experience. if swipe function is disabled on the terminal (By the card processor), MST will never be successful.

MST is the reason why i'm sticking with Samsung phones from the OCBC TR days and now this (havent received physical card)...

Lol. Thanks for the info indeed many doesn't know. Previously when I was clocking my DBS livefresh paywave section, sheng siong has many a times switch to MST without me knowing. Thus my ** fallen short. I learn thru hard ways. But I don't really know how it works until u and silverbomb explains now. Thank you so much! Kind ppl

Paywave is tap at paywave terminal. Very fast one.
MST is put at where magnetic swipe is, take some time one.

I tap as per paywave after I tell the cashier I want to paywave. But it turns out to be MST

Another time also it happens at Krispy Kreme Paragon outlet. I bought 1 doughnut. Ask to paywave. I tap. It's paywave. After eating it. I went back buy another one. But though I tap. It turns out to b MST. Same machine they using. I ask why is that so. But the cashier has no idea.

Stated on the receipt chit the later one is MST

Actually, even if you didn't get that message you can still request it using android phone with the link I mentioned in few pages back. If using Chrome doesn't work try Opera.

I tried with note 4... doesnt work. mine is ios so tried using spare phone but cant.. can only "Request early access kind" . they will notify me once i can apply.

Tried with Huawei phone, it did work. It’s said your card is on its way.
