I tap as per paywave after I tell the cashier I want to paywave. But it turns out to be MST
Another time also it happens at Krispy Kreme Paragon outlet. I bought 1 doughnut. Ask to paywave. I tap. It's paywave. After eating it. I went back buy another one. But though I tap. It turns out to b MST. Same machine they using. I ask why is that so. But the cashier has no idea.
Stated on the receipt chit the later one is MST
Think you should go read up on where to tap.
MST is to tap at where the magnetic stripe reader is at. As long as the back of your phone is pointed towards the stripe reader, there is a chance of it reading. So far, I've always hold the length of the phone parallel to the swiping location.
Paywave to tap at paywave sign or reader or screen, only issue comes if paywave is too close to the magnetic stripe reader.
Paywave was not very common when Samsung Pay came out. But nowadays, I hardly use MST nowadays.
Not sure if you have experienced the age of magnetic stripe cards, if you do not know what I'm talking about, since SG has mandated chip for cards as opposed to magnetic stripe.
