can still use to offset your GrabPay payments. even more convenient than capita voucher?

Still got a lot of places don't take GrabPay. Especially after they hiked their transaction fee earlier this month. The hawkers near my workplace all took down the QR code in response.

Just curious as to how many of you here are still actively using grabpay for normal everyday purchases in place of credit cards?

For example, it seems that Causeway Point is having some kind of promotion with grabpay where purchases at supported outlets allow you to earn extra Fraser points and vouchers.

It now costs more points to redeem any rebates, more banks are not counting top ups towards your monthly spend goal, and opening the app is still more cumbersome than paying from your lock screen (or even from your smartwatch).

So I am just not seeing what the point is compared to simply paying with credit cards.

I still have a lot of GrabPay balance to burn through, from back when UOB gave 10% from top-up. The money is just sitting there gathering dust at the moment, because the bulk of my spends are online spend, and DBS has attractive promos for those right now haha.

The Grab reward points have never been much of a draw, even before the devaluation. But I still top up my GrabPay wallet using the select few miles earning cards and pay for transactions that don’t earn me as many credit card reward points, if at all, if I were to pay with a regular credit card, for example, insurance premiums or SimplyGo. I’m in a way earning 4 miles per dollar for these transactions.

Me too. Will continue to do so until no more 4mpd. Topping up 1k every month.

Guys, I just placed an order on Qoo10 using GPMC. After keying in the sms otp, the payment was deducted immediately from my grab wallet. But the order is totally missing in my order history. The item is still in my shopping cart but the full amount was deducted, and it's not a small amount :(

Anyone encountered this b4 and what should I do? I've sent an inquiry to Qoo10. Should I call grab also?

Do anyone know if topping up to grab wallet still fall into the category of eligible spending for meeting the UOB one rebate? I know that grab rebate no longer exist

You kidding? The GrabRewards points awarded used to be equivalent to a cash rebate of 2.63%, before devaluation. For something that has no min spend, and no exclusions on what does and does not earn points because it earns points on literally everything, 2.63% was unbeatable. Then they nerfed capitastar vouchers, and the cash rebate "devalued" to 2%, which was still great.

Now, it's equivalent to 0.8%, and the exclusions are worse than many bank credit cards. They can't even make it worthwhile to pay for Grab services, with GPMC. It's more profitable to use UOB ONE, or basically any other credit card on the market, to pay for grab services, than to use GPMC. That's how far gone GPMC is.

My understanding is that it is still valid before 16 March.

I already stopped to top up my GrabPay wallet since Feb 2020. I just redeem my GrabReward Points and try to finish the remaining money in my GrabPay wallet.

I am trying FavePay now which gives an average of 10% cashback but can only redeem on the next purchase at the same merchant.

Hm can triple dip using credit card+grab+favepay mah. No need to stop grab unless can get better rebate using credit card+favepay.
