My previous transaction with the virtual gpmc is going to be canceled and refunded. But I already received the physical card and the number has changed. Anybody know if the refund process will go smoothly? Do I need to inform vendor that my card number has changed?

Both should work. If already work, no need to change.

MC has a rolling 30-day limit of $10,000. So link to Grab wallet is (slightly) better.

I don't get the attraction of capitastar. Its the same value as redeeming for grabpay, qoo10 vouchers rights?

Yes. I went to check too thinking I could redeem some but saw it’s the same value as grab (not sure about Qoo10 but probably as well). In the end I did not redeem as my spending patterns and preferences just don’t place me in a position where I’d spend in a mall over taking a grab ride. So it’s down to that I guess.

And most people like the fact that CapitaLand vouchers can be used in most if not all shops in the mall itself - NTUC, McDonald’s, even foodcourts. These could be staple expenses for some so it’s a good way to clear your grab points for something you’re going to spend on anyway. Granted some of these expenses can be discounted on certain credit cards but that’s another discussion.
