hi guys, I am thinking of upgrading my old 560ti twin frozr to 680 4gb or 780 3gb mainly for upcoming bf4. Referring to tradepac pricelist, twin frozr is much cheaper than others of same series. Is that mean the quality it will deliver not as good as others?

I don't like MSI simply because the cards are hella loud, it might be bearable for some people, but I find it better to pay the premium for an ASUS card which runs cooler AND much, much quieter

780. Newer. And what I felt is that if you got the budget just go for newer cards. Got 1.5k go get the titan.

woot? i think u are out of touch. MSI now is the among the top 2 quietest 7XX series along with gigabyte rev 2 cards.

wait for 9000HD series in early oct. Get the new Bundle which includes BF4(sell to finance premium on your BF4 preorder) ,Rome 2, watchdogs.. sell them and you get urself a cheaper next gen card.

GTX770 performs similarly to the GTX680. Best priced one is the ZOTAC GTX770 currently, iirc.

I'd say wait for AMD to show its hand for the upcoming Hawaii Radeon cards. AMD Claims BF4 optimised for them.

Hawaii cards should come before BF4, so just wait and see what surprises red camp will bring us.

Hmm by best, what are you actually looking at? Better factory clock doesn't means its better, due to GPU Boost 2.0, you can clock even higher if the cooler is better, like ASUS Directcuii.

Go for MSI non-ref cooler. their cooler is still 1 of the better as compared to other brand in term of cooling and noise level.

low noise level yet still able to achieve the low temp in non-air-con room.

Well, in terms of benchmarks and performance in games, the Palit one benched close to a Titan. But I am also looking at reliability. Looking to build a rig that will last 4 years or so with minimal downtime.

Rumour has is that the 7990 is pushed down to set the prices right for the next gen gpu from AMD
They say 9970 is to undercut 780, people are saying possibly 550-599 USD for 9970
Great choice imo if it really comes with the games stated.
Green side also is working on possibly a Titan Ultra and 790

Buying card for BF4 is premature now:
1. BF4 isn't out yet
2. AMD's next gen cards coming out next month might shake up the market

The budget brand GTX760s (Palit and Leadtek) presently very closely priced to the budget HD7950s (Powercolor) with performance neck-to-neck especially for full HD gaming. Looking forward to see AMD unveil good stuff to spur competition.

I'm somewhat expecting AMD to unveil sub S$300 cards with GTX760 level performance. Let's see where this goes

The local distros did bring in the Nvidia 700 series and Haswell together with USA launch this year, so we can expect that to happen with Hawaii cards as well, I hope!
