Graphic card recommendation

Hi all, so recently I was just thinking perhaps its time to change my graphic card (GTX 560ti). So I looked through the price list of the shops. And god, there were so many variations of the same card. Not to mention the prices could be vastly different too.

It is probably quite obvious I am quite the computer idiot. (It took me 15 minutes recently to figure out how to insert a RAM :s22:

)

Anyway, I would love to hear from you guys on your favourite card, brand, manufacturer etc.

Some information that might help:

- Budget of around 400-500
- Looking to play new games like titanfall, watchdogs at high settings smoothly. (Titanfall currently plays a bit slow at medium setting currently)
- Processor: Intel i5 2400 @ 3.10 GHz
- Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z68A-D3H-B3
- Power supply : 600w or 650w (Can't remember haha...)

No.. Diff architecture.. Can xfire 280x with 7970.

Leadtek gtx760 OC @ $345 will be a decent upgrade

I saw that 280x requires at least 750w PSU. Mine is probably only 650w, must I upgrade my PSU as well in this case?

No need those requirements are rather conservative. A good quality 500W would even suffice.

Isnt 290 using hawaii and 280x using tahiti XLT? Or am i missing something?

Those are different SKUs.... Microarch behind is the same (or just slightly diff)

mine is pretty similar too.
i5 2500
560ti 2gb

dont mind if i highjack.

im also currently running on 2x2gb ddr3 1600
may i ask the experts here, which is the bottle neck for my laggy bf4?

also, can i buy a 4gb ram stick and add on?

currently 2 out of 4 of the ram slot is taken. adding one more in can right? cos i see the slot is different colors.

hmmm... What are the settings that you are running on? 560TI should be able to run at med settings or low ba... high is still playable but not as smooth at med settings or low.

Your ram. 4gb if its a 64bit os running bf4 would be on maximum ram usage.

It will cause some spike lags during the game play and can be very anoying. As for the gpu. It wont give you up to 60fps. Most probably around 30-40fps on mid settings. If there is a smoke grenade thrown or someone supressing fire on you you would probably be lagging till death.

Thanks guys. Yes I'm running on 64bit windows 7. I read that windows 8 can have huge improvements. But will be looking to upgrade other stuffs before the OS.

I'm currently running all on low except for mesh quality. Using a 22inch monitor but set the reso to 13xx. This I can achieve 60fps. But spikes whenever it gets chaotic.

So do you suggest I add an additional 4gb of ram to get a total of 8gb ya.

One last question. My desktop now have 2x2gb ram inserted. Can I iust buy a 4gb ram stick and slow it in? That is, having 3 sticks. Cos I see the ram slot is different colors. Dunno if can use anot

It might or might not work. Depends on ur luck. So it's best to just get a new pair of ram to be worry free.

can't answer your 2x2gb and 4gb ram question, but if possible do get both a gpu and ram upgrade. If low budget, can consider 750TI, should be enough for Mid~High settings

Ram should work. Some weird ppl got 1x1gb, 1x2gb and 1x4gb to get 7gb one.
