Hi, just today my desktop screen become pixelated and fuzzy while in a game, but the background music was still playing. I restarted the PC, and in less than 10mins (this time at windows), the same problem occurred again. The screen goes black, but music is playing.

I took out the graphics card, restarted the PC, and it now runs normally (For about 2hrs+, no problem). My graphics card only 2 year old leh, the fans still clean and runs normally.

my PSU is 500W FSP HEXA SERIES HE 500, 80+ Efficiency, also 2 year old liao.. How to check the power its providing ah?

I don't know if its not enough power supplied to run the system hence pixelated/black screen or just my graphics card problem.. Anyone know how to diagnose? I dont have an external desktop to try out the graphics card.. nor do I have a spare PSU..

UPDATE:

Seated back my GFX card, turned on, windows is loading screen appears for about 10s then become black screen (its lit but no display of windows) This happened for about 4-5times already.

Pressed restart button, loaded up in SAFEMODE, windows started up perfectly. Checked the devices manager for any driver problem, scanned the GFX card for drivers, its up to date and everything is normal (no flags nothing).

How come like that ah?

Go to another PC, download a new drivers for your GPU.

Nvidia Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers

AMD Download Drivers

Store it inside a thumbdrive. Boot into safe mode.

- Remove/Uninstall completely the GPU drivers.
- Reinstall a new GPU drivers from your thumbdrive.

Once done try to boot up.

If IT FAILS again proceed to this steps.

- Download Furmark programe
- Do a stress test on the GPU (TAKE NOTE OF THE TEMP as it is on the screen)

Take note of it and find out when does it turned off screen or see any sudden huge jump in temperature.

See what is the max temp.

My guess is graphics card gone up lorry ....

I've borrowed a old graphics card from my friend, loaded it in and it works fine.. I think the problem lies with the graphics card too..

Go to another PC, download a new drivers for your GPU.

Nvidia Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers

AMD Download Drivers

I uninstalled the AMD catalyst and it screwed part of my mobo drivers up (3.0 USB not working etc. I guess I fked up this part lol) I've installed the new drivers, but when I restarted it didnt work still. Loaded in an older GFX and it is working fine (as of now im typing with my old graphics card abandoned in 2008) Means GFX problem right?

If lets say I hoot a new GFX, should I change my PSU too?500W currently 80+.
