i reformatted my ssd, but still got malware. strange. after cleaning the malware, my computer stop crashing. still testing. AVG antivirus couldnt detect the malware.

i was installing winzip freeware and it forces me to install other apps that are malware. i thought it is freeware, didnt realize there is malware apps bundled with it too.

then i go back to using winrar and it doesnt have malware inside.

i even thought my computer parts spoil. i just bought my computer parts 6 months ago.

Then u better reformat again if your current formatted drive had alrdy installed winzip. And check carefully on what the installer is offering. Dun just blindly click next. Especially for bittorrent, they have like 2-3 slides of ads/malware/extra programs offered. So, look carefully.

All these licenses people get with bundles for free and normally throw it away. Can't recall how many norton license i threw. MWB free version is enough to do the job paired with windows defender.

i just bought norton internet security 1 year subscription for S$39.

If you have seen the bunch of poly students with their school's Norton antivirus installed on the student's laptops, you'll be in for a surprise if you use Karspersky or ESET. Watch at all kinds of viruses it is trying to block from the student's USB drives.

That is how much virus a company that uses most of their budget on marketing ignores and lets run rampant inside your PC.

Avoid it like a plague. I trust Karspersky and ESET as I have not had a virus that has managed to make Windows act weird unlike when using Norton back for my naivety where I was wondering why a virus can still screw up my PC and Norton couldn't care less.


Now, even today, there are a lot of sites that has advertising banners that has some malicious code and my ESET blocks them from even showing up. It happened for HWZ too in the last 1 year where I was surprised why ESET said it was blocking a malicious virus from the site.


I hope you are not a torrent user too. Visiting certain famous search sites will get you again, advertisements that ESET has in their blacklist.
It's been like 10 years or more since I am on ESET. Never do I have a virus manage to squeeze through and ruin my PC. Safe ride.
But Karpersky is extremely good too.


Btw, I have an extra ESET license that I have no use for especially this year. And it will experience on December 31st. If you'd like, I can give the license to you and you can install it. It is for the better ESET Internet Security which has a proactive scanner that takes notice of any packets coming through and blocks them before the virus can completely download itself.


Also, Norton is bloated and uses a lot of CPU resource.
Mine is light and doesn't disturb me. Even scans on its own lightly(without much CPU resource) unless you want to manually scan it.

PM me and I'll give you my license. And see if ESET notices any viruses that your Norton has ignored.
