Graphics Card "turning off by itself"

My graphics card has been "turning off" in random times which usually occurs after I quit a game, I have to restart just to make it work again.

I use a Lenovo Legion Y520 with a GTX1050

It's not the problem with the temperature. I checked.

I have similar problem as u. Turn out its my power supply issue. Not sure if its due to the power supply itself or the pcie cables connected to my graphic card. After i change my power supply, the problem did not come back.

Maybe u unplug and replug the cables and see if it helps.

Edit: oh wait, gtx 1050 no nid pcie cables. So cannot help liao. Haha

Is this a laptop?

To TS, what do you mean by turn off? Change to using on board GPU? Optimus technology?

It's a laptop? Then how to help? Not like you can swap PSU cables and whatnot. This one, go straight to Lenovo for help.

Hardware issues with laptops especially the non-swappable components are hard to help one. Let the Lenovo technician deal with this problem.

That's mostly the purpose of the brand anyway. You paid a premium for their warranty service. So use it.

If you are worried about losing data, you can ask them to take out your SSD/HDD before sending it for repair.

Bring it back to Lenovo for servicing. No point trying to figure it out yourself since there is little you can do in a laptop.

Anyway, may be you want to elaborate what you mean by turning itself off.
