Has American Psycho been mentioned here?

Sorry lazy to go through the whole thread but i think this is a really good movie to watch. Besides the fact that there are some R(21) scences i still feel it is a great movie.

Also other great movies are Full Metal Jacket (probably the reason where you get your crazy drill sergeants) and Platoon.

Apocalypse Now is also nice but takes awhile to understand. <3 Marlon Brando.

Hotel Rwanda, i've watched multiple times.

Oh another classic is Reservoir Dogs. Quentin Tarantino Classic.

Sorry if the above are mainstream. But i've talked to multiple ppl. and most of them have not even heard of this movies. But maybe Hotel Rwanda.

Edit: Another movie i forgot to add is Jim Carrey's Man on the Moon. makes you laugh till you drop. ending is a little WTF though.

The Hurricane (1999)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0174856/

The story of Rubin "Hurricane" Carter, a boxer wrongly imprisoned for murder, and the people who aided in his fight to prove his innocence.

I've come to notice that most Singaporeans doesn't watch biopics because half of the time, they do not know the person that is portrayed. But hell were they wrong. It really doesn't matter whether you know the person or not, the film just keeps you going.

The Hurricane is another great performance by Denzel Washington.

Saw his documentary before, kena in out prison many times. Lucky he got celeb lawyers to fight his case for him

it is bl**dy good.

it has Henry Fonda in it and 99% of the movie is set in the jury room., which you would think it'll be damn boring cos only 2 locales, but watch how one man manages to change the mind of 11 others, and saves the live of a young black man who's charged with murder.

POWER NEH!!!!

Of course I did. It's a classic. But I will not add any films pre-70s onto the list.

If I did, the list will probably be flooded. Too many good films back then. From City Lights to Metropolis, Seventh Seal to Salo.

just watched 'The Experiment', morale of the story is good. but i felt the movie could probably lenghten to 2h30minute to further deepen the storyline and the development of the characters as the days went on

6.5/10 for me.

the machinist was really really good. the white and black theme made it even better.

9/10 for me.

onto vanilla sky now.

Die Welle (The Wave) (2008)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1063669/

A high school teacher's unusual experiment to demonstrate to his students what life is like under a dictatorship spins horribly out of control when he forms a social unit with a life of its own.

Die Welle is based on a novel of the same name which in turn was inspired by a true, real life experiment conducted in a high school in 1967. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Third_Wave

I was extremely fascinated by the actual experiment when I first read about it 2 years ago and have been wanting to watch this film ever since it was announced. I managed to watch it recently and it was one hell of a film.

If you liked "The Experiment" and is extremely intrigued by human experiments, "Die Welle" is one film you wouldn't wanna miss.
