ADA is like army artillery instead of infantry.

Do you know that RSAF have rifleman vocation for NSF?

Army Infantry is to charge & attack the enemies at front line while RSAF rifleman is to defend Air Base & counter attack enemies near or within the Air Base.

thats FDS, which is actually the airforce version of RP's.

and yes, ADA is more like artillery rather than infantry.

Actually it depends on which unit you posted to. 3DA, 18DA, 160 Sqn, 163 sqn or 165sqn

From my understanding FDS are make up of RPs, rifleman & etc.

However now no longer have rifleman vocation for NSF in RSAF.

Your vocation full title is Air Warfare Officer (GBAD).

You will be trained in the deployment and operation of air defence weapons systems of the unit that you will be posted to. go find out how many air defence weapons we have in singapore. its on the RSAF website.

you can expect to go either LCK Camp II or Chong Pang for pro term because that are the only two camps with air defence units.

training is pretty tough but seeing you managed to get into OCS you should be quite fit and able to handle the physical training.

one more thing, do keep in mind GBAD intel is pretty sensitive, esp regarding the units which are deployed 24/7. those who have been in GBAD will know what im talking abt. :s12:

anyway the AWO badge very nice.

this is the badge that is shared with the AWO (C3) also right?

i don't think the old ADA officer badge had the wings. and the centre part is the C3 communication logo.

ya that's the same badge. it's called the AWO badge. the 'ADA Brevet', now called the 'ADSS Badge' is now used by specialists only.

aiyah its just that different squadrons generally got different amount of xiongness, but you're an officer you scared what. by the time you posted to squadron/unit you're the one in charge of the training.:s13:

and i don't think you get to choose your weapon type. all airforce vocations has tests, and for your case will be physical + theory tests cause you need to know the stuff.

and your training is quite physical la. alot of SOC and PT but don't worry, cause AFS or AFTU where you'll be after SAFTI is quite fun.
