GTX 260 next upgrade?

i would like to upgrade my graphic card to handle future games and also to have better frame rates.

i prefer to stick to nvidia. would u guys recommend 650TI? is it a huge performance jump as compared to GTX260? and also would my current motherboard with PCI-E version 1 support new cards?

get a GTX660 at least, and if budget allows, go for GTX670.

Not sure about PCI-E version 1 but most modern gfx cards now support PCI-E 2.0 and 3.0.

As for upgrades, I would recommend a nVidia 660 GTX or 7870 from AMD Radeon. The 660 GTX will be slightly more costly. Slightly more than a 7950

What processor you using? There might be big bottleneck.

1) your cpu
2) your resolution
3) your budget

but for gaming min should get a 7850.

Im on Q9550. display on 1920 X 1080.Im not really keen in AMD. I had considered GTX660 but dont wanna spend too much on my old system. so considering a GTX650TI. if 650 performance is on par with GTX 260. i would rather stick with it.

I recently just upgraded my system. I also have the same processor and gpu as you, I went for a 7850. Since you prefer nvidia and that you do not want to spend much on the upgrade, a 650 or 650ti will do fine and will not cause much bottleneck. In terms of performance, 650 is on par with 260.

From the chart, 650 Ti is only very slightly faster than 260 GTX so unless you are willing to consider 7850 or 7870, it will not be a worthwhile upgrade.
