I really really like the reference design. That glowing Geforce Gtx logo there. But I'm afraid that it might not last very long like those non reference cards. But non reference cards are ugly. But they are supposed to run quieter and longer. What should I choose?

Depends on what you really want.

But no doubt the non reference cards cooling is much efficient imo.

It should or by right, prolong the lifespan of it.

I have seen some people building an ITX gaming rig uses a reference design. This is because of the chassis is too small. And probably wants the heat to be transferred out of the chassis from an exhaust behind the card.

But no doubt the reference design is cool though. But personally I wouldn't sacrifice performance over aesthetic.

Not sure how to answer you. Since 780 just release this year. How to tell you how long it will average last?

Im using a ref. designed GTX780 currently and quite pleased with the temps during gaming sections. 60ish degrees is what I see most of the time.

In a non-aircon room with temps can sometimes goes to 33-34 at night
So Im sure you dont have to worry about the card going too hot.

I'm using Gigabyte Windforce GTX780 OC. Yah, it looks nice when I take it out of the ESD bag and once I installed it, never looked at it again already.

Unless you have a security camera installed in your pc to stare at the insides 24/7 , aesthetics should not be the main focus.
