Wife of Injured Victim Recounts Terrifying Moments in Subang Jaya Theme Park Roller-Coaster Accident
A roller-coaster accident at a theme park in Subang Jaya has drawn public attention, with the wife of one of the injured victims recounting the terrifying moments on social media and saying that the pain and psychological trauma caused by the incident would continue to haunt them for a long time.
Social media user @nurul_aizam shared a post recalling the harrowing circumstances surrounding the incident. According to her, the accident occurred at around 8.55 p.m. on 22 August.
“Roller coasters and theme parks will never be the same again [for us]. The pain and trauma will continue to haunt them,” she wrote.
She said that she was waiting below when she received a distress call from her husband informing her that they were trapped high above the ground and that someone had been injured. Upon hearing this, she recalled: “At that moment, it felt as though my heart had stopped beating…”
“Although the evacuation and rescue operation at height took a long time, as all the victims had to be brought down one by one, I tried my best to remain calm below, praying and keeping myself from panicking,” she wrote.
“Initially, they wanted to sit in the front row, but in the end they chose to sit at the back… Had they been seated in front, their injuries would definitely have been more serious… It was truly a blessing amid the misfortune [God knows best]. Fortunately, while waiting to be rescued and evacuated, they had their phones with them and were able to provide updates… Those of us waiting below could not help but fear the worst, because the loud crash we heard earlier was really alarming.”
