I will be going to Guangzhou and HK in dec. there will be 3 adults traveling. Any suggestion of good hotel near eating places, main shopping belt and mrt stations? What is a possible itinerary for Guangzhou? I plan to stay in Guangzhou for 5 days. Tks in advance.

Stayed at zhuhai economic hotel before, not bad, Also stayed at grand continental before, but walk ten min to mrt station, Can stay guangzhou hotel if you want near mrt plus cheaper hotel

The location not bad, but their extra bed is expensive

Tks for the suggestions. I have booked accommodation at Springdale serviced residence in Tianhe district. As I will be arriving in Guangzhou at abt 1am, will the mrt still be running? Is there any direct bus or train to the hotel? I understand my hotel is just next to a mrt station.

At that hour, the only mass transit option is the airport shuttle service Line 1 to Guangzhou Railway Station. Other than a taxi, that is. From the main railway station, you will still have to take a taxi anyway.

Is it better to buy winter clothes in Guangzhou or HK? If Guangzhou, exactly where? Is the quality good? I would expect things are cheaper in Guangzhou. What things do tourists normally get in Guangzhou? I read that Guangzhou is the distribution centre for many things.

Yeah, been to guangzhou this March, went to take shuttle bus Line 1, just outside immigration counter. Fares are 17RM. Then take to railway station, then there are many cabs there, just get one. Took from there to Grand Continental for 25RM. Then my triple room was full, so they gave me one suite and one superior lol ...

Guangzhou cheaper. Bought last last year from guangzhou , around 50 RMB can get one already
