Closing thread. Let's stop playing guessing games here and in the future be more sensitive towards others when posting on our forums. :)
Posts with "guessing" comments to identify and discriminate people of specific races, nationalities, religions, beliefs, etc. have been rampant recently. This is unacceptable.

Please take note that such discriminatory, troll-ish, and offensive behavior is not welcome on our forums. Moderators will not hesitate to remove such posts and give Warnings with infraction points to users for such behavior.
Your comment "I wanted to say something but I think better not say" was unnecessary and many other users have been using such comments to make guesses or mock at certain races or nationalities whenever there are discussion topics related to certain races or nationalities. This is the kind of behavior that we do not condone and are trying to remove from our forums.

The Moderators had also taken action on the other inappropriate comments posted by other users in that thread. Thank you and have a good day. :)
Checked on your warning and post. "Guessing" comments had long been unacceptable on our forums. This is a public forum, so please be mindful of your comments and the sensitivities of other forum readers when posting.

Thank you and have a good evening. :)
As mentioned above, Moderators will give warnings with infractions to users who deliberately play "guessing games" on race, nationality, religion, etc.

Thank you and have a good evening. :)
Checked on your warning. As stated in your comment, before you entered the discussion thread (and watching the video) you already knew the child was a caucasian. The race of the child was not stated in the thread title. First and foremost, the race of the child is not even relevant to the thread topic. Please do not make such comments guessing or highlighting the race of others.

For more info on subtle racism/discrimination, refer to Guidelines on Racism and Discrmination.

Thank you and have a good weekend. :)

To add to the examples and reasons, it's also now part of our guidelines:-
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/help/racism-discrimination/

The problem is that these comments encourage others to parrot them and thus target nationality, race, or other related demographic stereotyping. Based on our observation of past behaviour across many discussion threads, this is basically a catalyst for even worse comments to follow suit.

I hope you understand the core concerns and why we've to moderate in such a way.

These issues are more frequently echoed in the news these days, so I hope you're aware of the new policies and frameworks that MDDI has rolled out over the last few years. These have been talked about and broadcast in several forms in the news, parliament, and other media that affect the online space.

Thank you.
