Need Guide on building a cpu with a budget of $800

HD:Not required intend to use back the old one.
Casing:IF possible a cool one haha.


Game im playing: Dota2,dragon prophet.

And maybe some high end game coming

And high-end gaming referring specifically to which games? Most MMOs and RPG like Diablo 3 should do fine. At a $800 budget for a rig the likes of Crysis 3 will have noticeable stutter at medium quality.

Having a budget of $800 for cpu and maytbe $100 for a good router.


im using asus n56u but im nt sure if it my router faulty or what the connect like quite lousy, 4 room flat nt quite big but have lag issue when im using at the living room. 2nd hand router brought from friend, maybe already faulty when buy haha.

Instead of router you can consider getting homeplugs, TP-Link got pretty good reviews and is well priced.

Should be able to get it at the $90-$95 range for a 2 piece kit in SLS.

Basically what a homeplug does is to create a wired connection from your rig to your router through the wall socket.

Don't expect to run high end games flawlessly with this setup. 7770 is an entry level gpu and is able to play dota2 in high settings smoothly as dota2 is not a very graphic intensive game. But you are going to have problems if you want to play crisis 3 and battlefield 4(some of the new games i can think of) on high settings smoothly.

Recommend to maybe spend a bit more on gfx with at least 2Gb ddram.. Those with 1Gb ddram will not last you long.. And don't think can fetch good re-sale prices also if you decide to change..

Maybe you can save on SSD for a better gfx bah.. Personally feel that gfx is more impt to gaming than SSD.. SSD only launches your applications and start up windows faster..

u wont die without a SSD, if you get a 7870 myst or 7850 can last you quite a while

i don't think TS would mind slower('normal') loading speeds but he can game on decent settings for all games

if TS you decided to drop SSD, consider topping up 20 more for a better case like sharkoon T28

Hijack thread a bit.. How come people like Sharkoon T28 ah? I see inside paint job I give up le.. So shiny and bright, only reflect back all the heat sia..

Personally prefer inside and outside of casing all black so can dissipate heat better.. Rather pay slight more for Corsair 200R..
