I went with john's: http://www.rinjanimaster.com/

highly recommended. the service was so great we gave away pretty much all our money to tip our guide and porters and kept enough to get a cab to town to find an atm after we descended. the only other really great company we observed was: http://www.greenrinjani.com/

our guide used to work for smaller companies that charged less and mentioned that they charged less by grouping 10+ strangers together and because you don't know each other, the group spreads out. as the hours go on and it becomes impossible to manage.

the typical itinerary will be a guesthouse stay on the first night because of our flight timing into lombok.

they will fetch you from airport, to guesthouse, which includes a dinner and early bfast next morning.

I remb I left the guesthouse at about 430am to head to the start of Senggigi trail.

on the last day after the descent, you can arrange with the company to send you to whichever resort you've booked if its of a reasonable distance.

i started at sembalun too. elevation is higher than senaru, so it's supposedly easier.

did the deluxe option and also hired an additional porter to carry our daypack because work got in the way of training and we were not as fit as we wanted to be... the food was amazing. we never knew it was possible to eat that way outfield.

oh. I noticed I made a mistake with the location.

I went on the 4d3n trail to the crater and lake from Sembalun

otw met some Australian tourists saying that 3d2n was too short and they missed the descent to the lake.

I will suggest 4d3n summit climb to be just nice and not too taxing. enough rest.

Visit Gili island(s)

The smaller and quieter one is Gili Meno.
The other one right opposite is Gili Tragawan. More 'happening'.

Dive. I took a boat in via Gili Trawangan. Vis is at least 20m. The water is so clear you can see the shadows of the boats on the sand.

$20 grilled seafood meals at 4/5 star hotels inclusive of beer.
