Guide to SPF Enlistment

HI, i will be enlisting next week, im not too sure what to bring.

Do i have to bring spare plastic bags/zip locks? And do i put my items into ziplock or i can just throw them into my bag?

How many hangers do i bring and besides hanger anything else?

Do i bring my own towel and blankets?

Do i bring toilet paper like those SAF people?

Why do i need to bring singlets and whats no.3 attire?

Yes. Plastic bag and ziplock for all your clothes etc. Do not throw them into your bag.

Bring hangers so you hang your clothes n towels etc
Maybe 5-8

You dont need to bring your own towel and blanket, as well as toilet paper.

Singlets are important.... Trust me just bring them

at the old PA then

memories great
and still spend some part of reservist stint doing ippt at old pa before the transition to HTA and the current FCC

i suppose yours by then alrdy at HTA for the basic training?

I still wanna advice my juniors. Go get a good staff unit. The 8-5 job with some OT, get a good boss, learn your Microsoft n whatever programs n skills. Then go take night classes in University or Poly.

The two years won't be wasted. The small amount lost on ops allowance is worth it.

It gave me a head start in my career. Not for SPF staff unit n what i learnt and whst my seniors n bosses taught me i will never forget.

Been there done that. 12yrs+ since i believe my salary n position were greatly boosted by those two yrs that i spent wisely.

No requirement, its the luck of the draw if you get frontline or not. You could be a marksman, gold for ippt etc but if for some reason they deem you unfit for frontline you will get a non frontline vocation

Just means that you will be doing your ptp and entering 2 months earlier so more physical trg at the start. As for vocations you are eligible for all frontline and nonfrontline vocations. You can find out more from their website.

Just have fun and enjoy life at HTA. I heard they have toned down the trg there alot because of "training mishaps"

Either way vocations wise all are very good and beneficial regardless of frontline or not so dont worry too much.

No. You will be given options to write your "preference" but its not guaranteed. E.g. some put frontline vocations as their preference but ended up as NSOSO and vice versa

During ur basic trg @ HTA u will be given a form to fill up ur choices of frontline/non-frontline vocations BUT it will also depends ur performance, CM's recommendation, manpower deployment of the units etc..

Depends if its not short enough. But the barbers there are nice, if its short enough they wont cut
