These days, I have only been buying HG kits without making any, so completed 1 recently to abate this guilt. It's a HG Nadleeh bashed with a toy I got from those gashapon machine, which is simply an LED with included fiber optic-ish strand to create this mesmerizing dot-ish light effect. The result, which fails to capture the "mesmerizing dot-ish light effect":

I don't modify my kits, so the whole drilling parts and breaking plastic up, was nerve wrecking but if there was anything I'll do differently, it's to cast a transparent neck so that the light can travel into the head unit, to create this effect:

Those strands are a pain to work with though. Bend it rapidly, it breaks, superglue it and light won't pass through, and if you bundle them up, the middle strands will fall out.

About HG Nadleeh though, I thought I'll love it like the O Gundam but after completion, it has this skinny and lanky physique that makes standing still poses look uncomfortable and funny. Back to the Unicorn series kits for now.

Ooooo.....I have that same toy, $2 right?? comes with the color changing led and optic fiber strands

but I don't dare bend the fibers, later break...so I just leave it in my display cabinet

how did u make that led glow in the chest orb?...drilled from the back?

Hahah yup! Mine's not color changing but I didn't tio the colours I want, red and green. Turned twice, both blue. Damn machine.

If I masking tape the strands into the desired position, after a long while, it will deform into the desired shape. But I can't be bothered since issues like paint peeling and strands breaking can still occur.

And for the base, I was lazy and didn't want to mask the actual Celestial Being logo colors.

For the basic LED-ing of HG Nadleeh, the chest is not hollow initially, so that you can paste the black circular stickers. Hence, I drilled that plastic part out. Then it turns out, the side torsos [Different torso parts, connected later to shoulders] has bits that locks into the torso, so I cut out the bits as well, and glued the side torsos onto the body. As the LED unit itself occupy the whole Nadleeh's body [Since it is a small MS], I drilled small holes through the male pegs that connects the GN Drive to the torso, and run the +/- wires through the male pegs. The batteries is then placed inside the GN Drive.

Since I'm not bothered with switches, I just make it turn off by removing the GN Drive.

they have solid colors?....I thought all was like mine "color changing" led

have u tried soaking it in hot water then bending/molding them?
prevents breakage and makes it easier to bend

as for Nadleeh...well it is supposed to be androgynous....so its not surprising that it has such an awkward physique~ =p
