i should try this someday with ajax

Exact same cleaning method and using same drainage bag. For the cleaning solution, I mixed Mr. Muscle "Mold & Mildew" with water then apply using pump spray and leave it for like 20 mins before thorough brushing.

Have 5 Aircons at home thus more economical to DIY.

yeah, my only worry about doing such cleaning is the electronics

if take out i may forget / overlook some small pin or screw

if clean on the blower scared spray water on the electronics

How about this type of cleaner? Is it effective as compared to your homemade version?
I read in the product details that this spray don't need to wash off with water after spraying

Planning to start DIY cleaning my starmex aircon too.
Bought the water jet pump from taobao.
Looking for a good cheap for the cheapest karcher wetdry vacuum.

One qn, I slowly reading up this thread here. You guys mentioned use the vaccum to suck out the jelly. Is it suck out from the end of the discharge pvc pipe at the toilet there? Where the aircon water discharge from?

For me is right bottom corner of ac. Remove the L cover n pull out the flexible pipe by unclipping it. Immediately suck the flexible pipe using wet vacuum hose while hand holding it to seal most gap of both pipe/hose. I hold for around 1min while slowly flexing the flexible pipe to dislodge any jelly.

if you can reach the small flexible pipe, it is not necessary to use vacuum cleaner, a small disposable pipe cleaner will do. those we used to cleaner riffle in the ns days.

wet vacuum is needed if we cannot access the flexible pipe. in this case, connect the vacuum at the discharge pipe in the toilet.

Just sharing.
For years, every 5-6 months, I been pouring hot water towards the front coil which goes into the drain pan and down the drain pipe.. melting all the jelly. Never had a dripping issue.
How hot is your water boss? Those just boiled from electric kettle ? Got photo to see which part of the front coil where you pour? Newbie here. = )

Hmm, how does a short pipe cleaner actually help to clear out the jelly along the drainage pipe?

Meanwhile, for my case, I have 3 blowers whose drainage pipes all join into one pipe outlet inside the toilet floor trap.
Instead of vacuuming, I now disconnect the 3 flexi pipe at the blowers, stuff two of them and then blow through the third pipe which is at the leaky blower using my breath via a short extension tube for hygiene.

the drainage pipe is big, hard to choke. normally the choking point is at or near the drain hole of the drain pan.
