usually for such cases if the international media didnt pick up, these ppl most likely will be at least in home detention or probably locked away without trial for a year or more. by the time they released they damn scared, already signed whatever statement to say wont comment on it again (same as li wenliang statement), and then plainclothes police will tap them for years.

u can see when she say 'thanks to the wta' she really meant it. u see her smile is genuine. she knows wta saved her life probably or at least a lot of harrassment from the ccp. before that she was just frowning and stressed.

actually now confirmed that the first email she sent was written by her handlers. she says that first email was written in Chinese to WTA chair then translated by cgtn. but at that point when questioned about the origin of the email with cursor, cgtn did not justify that it was translated by themselves and even explained that it was directly screenshot from mailbox. now after a month this is her trying to cover up for cgtn mistake.
