Plot is there but feel jordan chan character is abit flawed.

Seeing his character pan out in epi 2 - whereby he is willing to change to admin role, having computer classes and slowly climbs up at the police force : like that also can be vice leader?

Epi 3 whereby he was already pre warn and he states his stand as 100% police. Yet he still lower down his pistol giving that guy the chance to run away indirectly causing his suicide

Maybe 陈凤翔 wants to be different from all the previous legendary cops in HK history but the way he do things at the moment is hard to compare him with 刘健明 陈永仁 or laughing kor.

I think gangsters these days also kept up with times le lor, more like 韓彬, leaning towards P&L. For start 古惑仔 be it in Hong Kong or Japan, they were all originated from ex army / samurai.

2nd epi shows jordan chan getting a promotion around 1994. The young and dangerous storyline happen in 1995

Infernal affairs started out in 1991-1995 whereby the peak / best of times occur in 2002


Would not say the current drama is more real hence documentary. As per outside expectations, the producers and script writers would have take in such considerations that the show would have to factor in the era should be more or less the same as other HK cop shows timeline.

So im just trying to state the whole universe should be more or less the same. The gangsters being more aggressive in other firms as stated by your spouse should be due to different perspective (i am going to assume your wife must be watching young and dangerous series) hence arrving at this conclusion
