You want to move around and enjoy the place in a leisurely pace, trying our onsen etc, then not enough. If just look see, touch and go via the passes(like Odakyu's) then is enough, but must start early and mindful of the available daylight.

Enough. Buy hakone pass and take early train there. Includes boat ride on the lake, cable car up to the mountain to see sulphur spring, take train back to town, do some shopping, eating, etc. relaxing.

Hakone one day trip without taking a relaxing onsen dip is a bit of a waste I think?
