Hi,

Planning to stop by to visit Hakone on my way to Tokyo from Osaka (using JR pass).
1. Is it sufficient time to do cedar avenue > lake cruise > ropeway only? Estimate reach Odawara at noon.
2. Any luggage storage at Odawara JR station?
3. Is Hakone freepass is the only option?

when are you going? if you haven't gone yet, note that the sightseeing boat ends at 4ish during some seasons/months.

I went Hakone Yuryo. There is free shuttle bus to and fro Hakone-Yumoto Station to Hakone Yuryo. Very convenient. I booked the Hanare Yuya Kaden Type 2 room for 4900 yen. Quite ex but it is worth every cent.

Guess he was referring to only the use of the hotspring. Looking for accommodation as well.

Budget around $100 - $200 per night.

when you going? can try lalaca at gora. quite popular, some ppl from japan-guide forum recommended but must book early.

i stayed at a quite basic place under the ichinoyu chain. 8400 yen per pax with dinner and b'fast. might be more ex depending on season.
