huat ah! will go look see in my oct trip and get some eggssssss :s22::D
if have time, go hike up a little bit behind the rows of souvenir/eggs shops, the Kamiyama trail has some nice view of Mt Fuji there. The sulphuric air surrounding the areas is quite unreal.

Might not be fully open like before (http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e5203.html)

Important Notice
Due to volcanic gases, the area around Owakudani is currently closed to tourists, and the Hakone Ropeway is not running between Sounzan and Owakudani. Substitute buses (covered by the Hakone Free Pass) operate between Sounzan and Togendai.

From July 26 at 1pm, the ropeway will resume service along its entire length, and a limited area around the ropeway station will be reopened to tourists.
