Planning on a trip to hangzhou on dec, any hotel and attraction recommendation. is it very cold also?

Cold is relative to your previous experience. I don't think it snows in December. I consider winter to be a good time to visit Hangzhou because there will be a lot less people at the attractions that matter, like West Lake, Liuhe Pagoda, Lingyin Temple and Longjing (not sure if this is worthwhile in winter). Both times, I stayed in the Shangcheng district between the main railway station and the West Lake.

amount of people truely matter, i seen douyin crazy amount of people nowadays

Don't bump already.

1. You can visit the Silk Shopping Center (丝绸生活馆）to see the opulence of silkwear. Also interesting is Hangzhou Chinese Silk City 杭州中国丝绸城.
2. Tomb of Yue Fei. Better not spit at the baddies.
3. Local delicacies- Cat Ears, Dongpo Pork
4. West Lake experiences. If you are the type, do some homework on historical tales, famous poets and poems when you stroll to see the sights on the causeway. Munch on hot corn-on-the-cob from a hawker as you walk or savour longjing tea from a teahouse by the lake. Very enjoyable in winter.

You might not want to stand on those rocks in the future. But you are lucky visiting without the crowds.
